The hydrographic basin Huanuni presents environmental problems generated by intense mining and metallurgical activity of the "Empresa Minera Huanuni". Mining generates waste discharged without disposal or tailings dam, to the river flowing into the river Sora Sora and finally into Lake Poopó. These mineral deposits, with the presence of sulfides exposed in contact with air suffersevere oxidation associated with the dissolution of toxic heavy metals, acid formation and generation of sulfate, thus altering the quality of surface water and groundwater in the zone. This research studiesthe processing of the river bed sediments of the Huanuni river by centrifugal gravity concentration to recoverthe finetin spread, and at the same time, with the profits of the process, carry out local economic development of affected communities. The economic analysis of proposed treatment scheme shows positive data for the project. From an investment of approximately $ 9 million and within a period of time of nineyears, it's pretended to recovertin riverbed, which exist in an interesting quantity along with other impurities, with appropriatetechnology forthe recovery of fines
