Inspired by Gesta Bárbara of Potosí of 1918, a second generation of this group of art and culture emerged in different districts of the country: La Paz (December 7, 1944), Cochabamba (1946), Sucre (March 13, 1948), Oruro (April 2, 1949), Santiago de Huata (September 24, 1950) and Tupiza (April 17, 1951). Convened by the Gesta Bárbara Committee of Bolivia (Ana Maria Alba, Martha Torricos F., Hugo Molina Viaña, Hugo Revilla V., Edwin Vargas Padilla and Jaime Zabaleta), 70 years ago on Saturday, April 2, 1949 at the University Auditorium, took place the solemn official inauguration of Gesta Bárbara de Oruro, "Clarinadas de Oro de una Nueva Generación". On Thursday, April 28, under the Presidency of Hugo Molina Viaña, the act of possession of Directive Board and the solemn homage to the eminent sculptor Marina Nuñez del Prado, "flag bearer of the homeland's art" took place. Over the years, Gesta Bárbara de Oruro and its members (writers, poets, painters, artists) carried out a series of artistic and literary activities (recitals, exhibitions, tributes, literary-musical programs, radio programs, conferences) that established presence and imprint in the cultural activity of Oruro.
